    Default Dreambox 800HD SE Setup Tutorial

    This tutorial will guide you to setup your new Dreambox 800HD SE.

    If you're use to just plugging in your satellite box, adding a few settings and away you go, this box will need some time get setup and a lot of reading.

    The box I'm using is the newer version with a USB on the front and a mini flash up button on the back.

    Highlights include:
    400mhz processor
    True HDMI output (no more need for DVI to HDMI cable)
    Rear on/off switch
    Colour LED display
    Larger and quieter fan, fully software controllable
    Plug and play port for internal 2.5" sata hard drive, no need for sata cable anymore
    Sim 2.10
    Mini usb port for service updates
    eSATA port
    1 x Scart connection
    3 x USB 2.0
    Digital optical audio output
    1 x DVB/S2 HD Tuner
    Rear mini flashup button

    Remember:

    Press "OK" key after each option to confirm option

    Use the "Red" Button or "Exit" to close or exit screens.

    Some Menu options will differ depending on the image you have. Just look around and you will find it.

    Default Backing up your Settings

    After you set up all the connections on your box, you will need to backup all the settings first.

    Read the manual to familiarise yourself with the remote and the menus on your box.

    http://sataid.net/forum/showthread.p...0-SE-HD-Manual

    Just follow the following commands on your remote control to backup your current image and have a backup drive or USB Drive plugged in.

    Press "OK" key after each option to confirm option.

    Backup system image:

    -> Menu -> Setup -> TS Flashbackup -> Sim2-dreambox (for Clones)-> Choose backup location

    Choose Harddisk or USB Drive, depending on what you have plugged in.

    -> Green Button to Save

    -> Start Backup

    It should take a few minutes to backup. This backs up the entire image and settings, which you can restore if you need to.

    When it's completed, just "Exit".

    To Backup your current settings:

    -> Menu -> Setup -> Software management -> Backup system settings

    This will backup all the settings including channels, so you can restore them later after you change your image.
    This can take a while to perform.

    To Restore your Backup settings:

    -> Menu -> Setup -> Software management -> Restore system settings

    Default Adding Satellites List

    When you have your Image in place, normally you will have two or three satellites loaded in. The easiest way for a newbie to get up and running is to place a satellite list in themselves. You can learn how to download and play with plugins and extensions later.

    Download a new satellite list. It's called satellite.xml

    http://sataid.net/forum/showthread.p...ellite-TP-List

    Download the Euope version for Europe. It will give you the satellites and TP's for 50W to 50E.

    Download DReambox Control Centre or another FTP program. I like to use FlashFXP as it's wasy to setup and less hassle than DCC.

    http://sataid.net/forum/showthread.p...ogram-FlashFXP

    Follow the instructions to setup the connection over a network cable.

    When you connect, you will see the directories on your dreambox.

    On the left pane just find the satellites.xml file.

    On the right pane, navigate to /etc/tuxbox/

    Drag the file from your computer to the Dreambox and you've added the new sats list.

    Disconnect FlashFXP and rebbot your box.

    The new sat list will be added to your dreambox.

    Default Adding in Cline and Softcam Keys

    You will need an FTP program. I use Flash FXP.

    Clines:

    You will need to open FlashFXP and go to VAR/ETC directory.

    Check if there is a file called CCcam.cfg.

    You can Right Click and select Edit to edit this file and place your cline in this file.

    If it's missing, just create an empty notepad file with the correct name, enter your cline details and drag it into the folder.

    Disconnect the connection and reboot your Dreambox.

    As long as you have cccam loaded into your Dreambox, it should be working.

    you may need to configure it through "Setup-Camd" or whatever cam config program you have installed to your image.

    Reboot your dreambox after you configured your cam.

    It should now be working.

    SoftCam

    Download softcam key file:

    http://sataid.net/forum/showthread.p...x-Softcam-Keys

    Copy the file over to var/keys directory on your dreambox.

    Reboot your dreambox and the keys should work if they are current.

    Newcamd.list and other lists you may wish to edit are also found in this directory.

    If you have Windows 8 and can't get the Browser Upgrade Screen to work (Post 3) - The screen just hangs when you Select the firmware and Click Flash:

    Playing around with IE10 on Win8. Just add you DM box IP address to Compatibility View Settings:

    -> Tools
    -> Compatibility View Settings
    -> Click "Add" to Add This Website.

    You DM boxes IP address will be added. Type it into your browser and update. It should work Again.

    I can't get it to work on any version of Mozilla Firefox.

    Edit: The Windows 8 VCP drivers v6.6.1 have been updated.

    Default Network Settings

    Network Settings

    When you set up you network settings, the best thing to do is leave it on DHCP. It will then find the settings for you. Reboot, check it's working and then you can assign a static IP address after and then power cycle your box at the rear rocker on/off switch. It saves you a lot of time figuring what you need as each ISP is different.

    Default Re: Timezone Settings Problem

    I have installed the Italysat 4 Sim2.10 OE2 image.
    The problem I have is that the timezone is locked on UTC and I am unable to change it to GMT +1 so time and EPG is 1 hour behind.
    Does anyone know where the timezone setting file is located so I can edit this myself.
    I have tried Timezone.xml in tuxbox and changing config settings.
    Thanks.

    Edit:
    I was checking the usr\lib\enigma2\python\Components looking at Timezones.pyo.
    It was checking for timezone.xml in the /etc folder. It was missing. I copied a copy from a backup and placed it there, rebooted and it gave me the GMT settings back. It defaults to UCT when it can't find the file in the /etc folder.

    Time and EPG now correct.
