Default OpenBox S9 Channel Editor [SetEditHD100]

Here's an unregistered English copy of SetEditHD100, which can be used as a channel editor for the OpenBox S9.
I prefer the receivers on board editor myself, but for those that don't, you can use the attached editor.

I came across this on RapidShare while browsing the web, a Registered English copy of SetEditHD100.
I had to rename the zip file for rather obvious reasons.

To register your copy, simply copy the file [SetEditHD100license.lic] into the SetEditHD100 directory folder,
which is located in Program Files/SetEditHD100

    Good work ...

Does it work like PVR800-Editor ?

    It did not read TP_PROG.DBS
    OpenBox S9 HD PVR
    Firmware HDS2-10-11-08:1034CMT

    Hi,

I have tried making some changes to the L53_S9 version 2.30 file (to add some favourites etc) however when I save the file and try to do an upgrade on the Openbox the upgrade fails to read the file properly and reboots the box.

Anyone any ideas how to save/export the file so that the S9 can read it?

    Thanks,

    B

After you have made changes to the channel list, try the following.
[This is for making changes on the receiver, not on an external editor]

Menu -> Tools -> Dump by USB -> Dump Mode [set it to Misc Files] then Setect Files click OK on option 1 [TP_PROG] once you see the check mark or tick next to TP_PROG, click the yellow button to start the dump.
Once the dump has completed, you will have saved a copy of the revised channel list on the USB Stick.

Using an external editor will not save favorites.

Yes it does. Change the .dbs to .abs and proceed with editing the channels or adding them to the favorites. Save it back to .abs once you finish editing.

how do I use this tool?

    what I did:
    1. I made a full dump (.abs) to usb
    2. Opened it with setEdit
    3. Made changes and saved it
    4. Upgrade by usb on the openbox

But then all my channels are gone? what's going wrong here

It is now possible to have the latest version of this (Version 1.14)
Click on Help tab and then Look For Update. This takes you to the site.
Download the Update to a folder on your PC.
Copy the .dll file to the directory where you installed SatEdit.
Paste the .dll file and click OK to replace.
When you next run the program a box will quickly pop up saying about Fix for the S9
You now have latest 1.14 Version.

Of course, simply download the atached file unzip it and place the file [SetEditHD100.dll] into the SetEdit folder, you will need to overwite the version already in the folder, once that is done, your finished, and will have the latest version.

If your using Windows 7, then a quick way of selecting the SetEditHD100 folder is to right click on the desktop shortcut of SetEditHD100, and click on [Open File Location] the folder will then open on the desktop.

Adding a channel to a Fav Group.
To add channels to a Fav Group, simply right click on a channel you wish to include in one of the Fav Groups, then click on Mark As -> Fav Channel then select a Fav Group 1 - 8.

I have used both editors and SeteditHD100 ver 1.14, is by far the better of the two. Its easier to use once you get the full image dump file - usb sorted, but that's child's play on the S9, just plug in the usb and it is downloaded in a jiffy.

Setedit allows you to transfer multiple files to your favourites list (with ctrl+ shift) apart from that it allows a-z sorting of the files to let you work without losing patience. You can also create ghost channels in order to allow you to (sort of) create subgroups in the Favourite group. (if you are accustomed to dreambox bouqets, you know what I mean)

All you do when you've finished is just SAVE and reload the image dump file to the S9. One negative is that the names of the favourites list (i.e CHILDREN, MOVIES, SPORTS etc etc) are not save to the dump file and you have to edit them on the S9...

All in all I would say setedithd100 is more versatile than the PVR800.

what I did is created a new satellite at 0.0 degrees (this can be found ready as the last satellite on laurals channel list). Then I added a channel on that satellite and named it say 'S K Y I TA L I A' (you can also edit the channel to be skipped when you zap - in theory the motor will not try to turn to that ghost channel) BAsically you then place the channel where you want in your favourites to create sub bouquets. It acts like a marker. I wonder if there are infact markers in setedithd100. MAybe a seasoned user can tell us.

with setedit you will have to create a dump of ALL the image (dumphd.abs) and the programme extracts the channel list from this dump. You then reupload the whole image file to the S9 box, ureinstall cccam config files and motor settings and youre good to go.
