My biggest issue is that is has to be quite easy to operate, becouse of kids and female citizens in the house:good:
I`ve got no clue whatsoever about what to buy, so would really apprsiate any help on this matter!

I have tested a few over the past couple of months, and the best one to date so far, seems to be the Homecast HS5101, but I do believe you must as I did order it from Germany, but it is well worth it, it costs approx 20% less that the Humax HDCI 2000, and is a far more friendly receiver to use, and unlike the Humax it will find and store the Premier and Kiosque channels, delivery took 3 days which is on par with the delivery I get when ordering from within the UK.

Thanks a lot for you`re rapid answer! Will look into this and maybe i`ll just go for this reciever. I`ve been looking at the "lyngbox" if you`re familiar with that one. Looks like a really fine box! Not for sale before february though...

November 2006 is the proposed release date for the Lyngbox, at least in certain parts of Europe apparently, and like yourself, I also can't wait to get hold of one as well. :good:

i use the humax hdci 2000 and they keep coming down in price. good picture on my plasma and easy to use. you can password protect channels to stop kids accessing certain channels.

Hi again Laurals!
I found this shop, with a low price on the Humax. Would this be a great buy you think? I also got a card from "Viasat", would this run on this reciever?
Thanks:thank_you2

The receiver is a good capable HD receiver, and proberbly the most popular at the moment, but it do not find everything, even when one inputs the correct frquency, but there is a way around this, there always is, all one needs to do is, input the correct values for each individual channel seperatle using the channel editor and save it, or alternatively, you could use a ready made channel list.
As long as you have the appropriate cam, then you should not have a problem using the card.

Hi again...
Well may be it's time to pass HD, we have all the stuff available.. Prices are corrects..
Concerning the sat receiver, I always have the technomate 1500. Certainly a must have for everyone, "because we can"..
I don't know if technomate will add a new HD model, a sort of 1500HD, but I'd like to have some advices before buying a new receiver. Is there a "because we can" hd receiver, patchable and able to offer the same advantages than 1500 technomate does?...
ThankZ

The answer is, not at this time, as far as I am aware no HD Receiver can be patched to allow you access to encrypted channels, the only solution is to use an external cam, like the Dragon or Diablo.

try tm hd 6800/6900 , you wont regret it, software loading thru usk mem stick, very easy ,no need for diablo, drag,t rex ,etc,etc,..also add external hard disc drive thru usb and you have a great pvr,..also records hd programmes but uses more gb`s for hd,.around 5 or 6 gb`s for 1 hour hd,..happy days,.dobrocop.
