I use a USB HDD which has it's own separate power supply...
I can turn the HDD's supply off at the mains, but that would mean when the Passion + turns itself on to record, the HDD would not be available to it. So I tried a little experiment with one of those power saver socket gadgets which turns all the periopherals off, when a PC is put to standby - but because the Passion draws much less current, it failed to turn the HDD's PSU on when the Passion was powered up.
So for now the HDD runs all the time - anyone found a solution?
